En nuestra excursión a Sevilla desde Cádiz para cruceristas, le recogeremos en el puerto de Cádiz, al lado de la terminal. Desde allí iniciaremos un placentero recorrido en un vehículo privado de lujo hacia la capital de Andalucía, Sevilla. Tardaremos una hora y cuarto en llegar a la bella del Guadalquivir, donde nos estará esperando nuestro guía experto.
En primer lugar, visitaremos el Alcázar de Sevilla. Se trata del palacio real más antiguo de Europa todavía en uso. Declarado patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO, es un monumento embriagador que gracias a sus habitaciones, detalles, patios, fuentes y jardines, conoceremos el arte a través de los siglos.
En segundo lugar, visitaremos la Catedral de Sevilla, también declarada patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO. Es la catedral gótica más grande del mundo y alberga numerosas obras de artes que merece la pena conocer. No nos perderemos la tumba de Cristóbal Colón, el altar más grande de la cristiandad, ni las obras de Murillo, entre otras cosas. Por supuesto, podremos subir al minarete de la antigua mezquita, la Giralda.
A continuación, pasearemos por las callejuelas de la antigua judería, el barrio de Santa Cruz. Una zona laberíntica llena de historia y leyendas que nos trasladarán a otra época. Después, tendremos timpo libre para un buen almuerzo a base de tapas e incluso hacer algunas compras en la ciudad.
Finalmente, regreso al puerto de Cádiz.

We took a transatlantic Disney cruise that stopped in Portugal and Spain. We opted for a DCL excursion from Cádiz to Sevilla, so we were at the mercy of whatever tour companies/guides they lined up (but, of course, Disney usually tries for the cream of the crop). While we enjoyed the guide who led us from the port to Sevilla and back, and through the first and last part of our walking tour, it was "Uncle George" (tío Jorge) from All Sevilla Guided Tours that made the experience come alive. Our group met up with him as the "local guide" for the Alcázar and la Catedral. WOW, does he know his history! Even my 11-year-old was paying close attention to the stories he told as we walked through centuries of history. You can tell how much he loves "his" city and its past. Sevilla was our favorite city among those we visited (Sao Miguel/Azores, Lisbon, Malaga, Ibiza, and Barcelona were the others) - and I think a large part of that is because of the depth, detail, and color that Uncle George brought to our tour. I hope to return to Sevilla someday with my mother; you better believe that I'll be arranging a tour with these guys, so that she can see it the way that I did. ¡Muchísimas gracias!
